About Mark Ryan

Mark is a long-term resident of the Morayfield electorate.  He went to primary school in the area and has developed strong connections with local residents and community groups.

Mark graduated from the University of Queensland with degrees in Law and Arts (majoring in Economics and International Relations) and was employed as a solicitor in the Brisbane office of a leading international law firm.  Prior to commencing work as a solicitor practising commercial property law, Mark worked for six years as a Customer Service and Sales Officer for Telstra.

During his time with Telstra, Mark fought hard for better workplace conditions for Telstra employees and represented Telstra employees on the National Section Council of the Community and Public Service Union.

Mark has a strong commitment to social justice and has been actively involved with Rosies Youth Mission (a homeless outreach service in Caboolture), the Homeless Persons' Legal Clinic, the Welfare Rights Centre (a community legal clinic) and the Catholic Justice and Peace Commission (Archdiocese of Brisbane).

Mark enjoys all sports, particularly rugby union, and is an avid reader and movie buff.

Mark is passionate about his community and is proud to live in the local area.  He truly believes that active and personal representation is the key to empowering communities and the people within them.
