Finding jobs for the Caboolture Region

16 April 2020

The Palaszczuk Government has opened a new online portal that will connect Queenslanders who have lost their jobs due to COVID-19 with new job opportunities.

State member for Morayfield Mark Ryan said this will assist residents in the Caboolture region who are looking for work.

“The new Jobs Finder Queensland web portal is the latest initiative to come into effect as part the Palaszczuk Government’s $4 billion package of measures to support Queenslanders during the COVID-19 crisis,” Mr Ryan said.

“A lot of people in our local area have lost their job as a result of COVID-19, and the state government is doing everything it can to link those people with job opportunities.

“Jobs Finder Queensland is an important first step and just one way we are continuing to support Queensland jobs.

“Any Queenslander, who has been stood down, made redundant or has lost their job due to the COVID-19 crisis can register through the Jobs Finder Queensland portal.

“Those looking for work can provide information on their skills, location and work experience, and that information can then be readily matched to available jobs.

“We are seeing demand in a wide range of industries in south east Queensland, including health care, information communication technology and food processing.”

Mark Ryan said there are also new training opportunities accessible through the job portal.

“With more people staying at home, there’s no better time to look at upskilling and undertaking further training,” he said.

“The Jobs Finder Queensland portal includes access to nine free, short online training courses in a range of valuable skill sets in areas such as food service, health and aged care, transport as well as mental health support.

“There will also be a range of free short online courses on offer in areas such as digital literacy, cyber security and business.

“All of these courses will be available through TAFE Queensland.”

Any Queensland job seeker can register their details, skills and location via the Jobs Finder Queensland portal and access free online training at: www.jobsfinder.qld.gov.au
