Locals encouraged to ‘Go Local’ and invest in Queensland

23 August 2017

The Queensland Government’s Go Local statewide campaign kicked off this week encouraging Queenslanders to think local when making a purchase.

State Member for Morayfield Mark Ryan is encouraging local residents to ‘Go Local’, spend local, and put their support behind local small business.

“We all know the role small businesses play in our local community,” Mr Ryan said.

“They don’t just provide products and services, they are the supporters of our local clubs and community groups, not to mention some of our best local employers.

“Where you choose to spend your money can directly impact the economy, so when you choose to spend locally, it helps build a strong and resilient local economy and supports local jobs.

“Spending locally helps new businesses to start, existing businesses to grow, and it puts money back into our community.”

Mr Ryan said the campaign also complements the Queensland Government’s recently released Buy Queensland Policy, which is giving Queensland businesses a better crack at government procurement contracts.

“The Palaszczuk Government is committed to supporting jobs for Queenslanders right across the state,” Mr Ryan said.

“The Go Local campaign is encouraging Queenslanders to follow the Government’s lead and support local business.”
