School zones light up

27 January 2017

Students at local schools are now benefitting from new flashing school zone lights, which were installed prior to school returning this week at Narangba Valley State High School and Carmichael College.

State Member for Morayfield, Mark Ryan MP, said the lights were installed at Golden Wattle Drive and Oakey Flat Road in the week before school returned.

"Just like the signs at other schools across the community, the flashing school zone signs are a vivid reminder for motorists to slow down before and after school," Mr Ryan said.

"These signs just might be the factor that saves a young life or prevents someone from being injured."

Mr Ryan said he was proud of the Palaszczuk Government’s continued roll out of flashing school zone signs to schools across the Morayfield State Electorate.

"I’m always so excited to see the signs being installed at our local schools because it was one of my top priorities when I was elected in 2015.

"I’m very pleased that Narangba Valley State School and Carmichael College are now benefitting from these signs."
